Kepler-22b is an extrasolar planet orbiting G-type star Kepler-22.[7][8] It is located 600 light years away from Earth in the constellation of Cygnus. It was discovered by NASA's Kepler Space Telescope in 2011 and was the first known transiting planet to orbit within the habitable zone of a Sun-like star.

I think this discovery is important because Kepler 22-B can be the planet with life the question that all this century has been asking is their life on other planets are we alone. This is another step for science and for all man kind once we get the technology that we need to other planet further than our reach now we will discover new planets and life.
